New Job For a Cowboy Album, Summer 2009 Tour Dates
Ruination, the follow up to the award-winning Glendale, Ariz., quintet’s 2007 debut album, Genesis, was recorded at Audio Hammer Productions in Sanford, Fla., and is the band’s first disc recorded with drummer Jon “the Charn” Rice, who has toured with the band since the release of Genesis. The album boasts sleek arrangement, thundering musical muscle, dexterous riffs by guitarists Bobby Thompson and Al Glassman and bassist Brent Riggs, keen dynamics and powerful vocals from Jonny Davy. “Job For a Cowboy has toured the world and faced a ton of challenges over the course of the last year and a half,” Davy said. “All of the hard work that we’ve put in and everything that we’ve experienced is directly reflected in our new songs, which we know are our best yet. Stay tuned.” With the release of Ruination, Job For a Cowboy will hit the road as a featured act on the 2009 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival, appearing alongside Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Bullet For My Valentine, Killswitch Engage and several other acts. The 27-date tour starts July 10 in Sacramento, Calif. Job For a Cowboy formed in Glendale, Ariz., in 2003. Deathcore EP Doom was released in 2005; the band signed with Metal Blade records later that year. Incessant touring at home and abroad ensued—the band has played the Download Festival in the U.K. and the Wacken Open Air festival in Germany, and earned supporting slots for Megadeth and Behemoth. Job For a Cowboy also earned a landslide of top media accolades, including being named among Alternative Press “Bands You Need to Know,” “Best Underground Band” at the Metal Hammer magazine Golden Gods Awards, Revolver “Breakthrough Bands That Will Be Kicking Your Ass This Year” and Total Guitar magazine “Hottest Guitar Bands.” Job For a Cowboy 2009 Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival tour dates: July 10 Sacramento, Calif., Sleep Train Amphitheatre July 11 San Francisco, Shoreline Amphitheatre July 12 San Bernardino, Calif., Glen Helen Pavilion July 14 Seattle, White River Amphitheater July 17 Phoenix, Cricket Pavilion July 18 Albuquerque, N.M., Journal Pavilion July 19 Denver, Fiddler’s Green Amphitheater July 21 Kansas City, Mo., Sandstone Amphitheater July 22 St. Louis, Verizon Wireless Amphitheater July 24 Atlanta, Lakewood Amphitheater July 25 Indianapolis, Verizon Wireless Music Centre July 26 Chicago, First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre July 28 Toronto, Molson Amphitheater July 29 Scranton, Pa., Toyota Pavilion July 31 Cleveland, Blossom Music Center Aug. 1 Pittsburgh, Post Gazette Pavilion Aug. 2 Detroit, DTE Energy Music Theatre Aug. 4 Boston, Tweeter Center for the Performing Arts Aug. 6 Virginia Beach, Va., Virginia Beach Amphitheater Aug. 7 Camden, N.J., Susquehanna Bank Center Aug. 8 Hartford, Conn., New England Dodge Music Center Aug. 9 Washington, D.C., Nissan Pavilion Aug. 11 Tampa, Fla., Ford Amphitheatre Aug. 12 West Palm Beach, Fla., Cruzan Amphitheater Aug. 14 San Antonio, Texas, AT&T Center Aug. 15 Dallas, Superpages.com Center
