Hirax Origins
Formed in 1984 by singer Katon W. De Pena, Hirax is an American thrash and speed metal band from Cypress, California. Back then, Hirax performed in Los Angeles and San Francisco with several of their thrash metal peers such as Metallica, Slayer and Exodus. Active originally from 1984-89, Pena reformed the group in 2000 after receiving considerable fan mail and interest. The lineup has changed over the years, with Lance Harrison taking over guitar duties in 2006.
